Bubble Spinner

The very basic of games can sometimes be enough to provide hours of fun, no matter how simple and pointless they seem. In fact, the more you think about it, it is with puzzle titles you have spent the most time playing with rather than getting yourself immersed in a role-playing game. The same is very true for Bubble Spinner, which started off as a free online game that you can play with your computer. Now, the game is available for most iOS devices and is available for download in the App Store.

So how does this game differ from any puzzle game that you have played? For one, Bubble Spinner involves some sort of physics in the game play. Before going any further, it is without question that when a puzzle game has the name “bubble” in it, the first thing that comes to your mind is one that has multi-coloured bubbles which you need to pair up in threes and pop. This game employs the very same virtue with a few differences that make it even more original than its predecessors such as the Puzzle Bobble game which was famous a few years back. The great thing about playing this version is that you can now use your fingers to control the arrows and no longer rely on your keyboard for the actions.

As mentioned, there are plenty of things different about Bubble Spinner even though it is essentially a bubble-popping game. Instead of shooting individual bubbles upwards into a ceiling of other bubbles, this game will have you shooting down on them. However, the bubbles on the screen are compressed and lying on a sort of “spinner” that moves every time you shoot in a particular direction. When you pop a set of bubbles of a particular colour, you earn points. You will be able to earn more points if you blow up more than three of them. The main objective of this single-player game is to pop as many as you can without being overwhelmed and move on to the next level. However, if one bubble touches the side of the screen, the game is over.

The game play is both easy and difficult at the same time. For the easy part, controlling the arrow is a piece of cake. All you do is point and shoot with accuracy and you have this game figured out already. On the other hand, what makes Bubble Spinner difficult is that every so often, new bubbles will be added to the mix. So, regardless of how many you pop, there will always be new ones being thrown in. What’s more is that there is a timer on the lower part of the screen that will run out and force you to shoot the bubble that you have if you don’t proceed and target your mark fast. The movement of the bubbles every time you hit them also makes it challenging to target your next mark since they spin according to the direction you hit them in. All in all, Bubble Spinner is a simple but challenging game that will have you draining the battery of your device.
